Did you know that you can shop around for health insurance? NY State of Health, the Official Health Plan Marketplace, is where New Yorkers can shop for, compare, and enroll in health insurance coverage. You have a choice of health plans and help finding the plan that is right for you. It’s the only place to get financial assistance to reduce the cost of coverage. Health insurance offered in the Marketplace includes a comprehensive set of benefits.
Individuals called “In-Person Assistors” are available to help you apply for health insurance.

If you need a pregnancy test, you may get tested and apply for Presumptive Medicaid by calling:

The Health Insurance Information, Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP) can answer questions and help you access all parts of Medicare and Medigap supplemental plans as well as money saving programs including EPIC and Medicaid.

The Onondaga County Cancer Services Program offers free breast, colorectal, and cervical cancer screening and diagnostic services to uninsured residents of Onondaga County. The Cancer Services Program can provide breast cancer screenings for women over the age of 40, colorectal cancer screenings for men and women over the age of 45, and cervical cancer screenings for women over the age of 40. Are your children up to date with their shots? The Onondaga County Health Department Immunization Clinic provides shots to children two months of age up to their 19th birthday. Parents or legal guardians must come to clinic and stay with their children. The Clinic can also provide the MMR vaccination to adults at least 18 years old when it is required by their school or college. Flu vaccination is available seasonally.
