Senior Dining Sites
Senior dining sites provide nutritious meals to adults age 60 and over in a friendly social setting. Those accompanying an older adult(s) are also welcome to dine as a guest. These nutrition gatherings are set as communal dining to build community through socialization while enjoying a low-cost, healthy senior meal. Each Senior Dining Site menu meets 33.3% of the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI) to ensure all meals are nutrient-rich for seniors.
Our mealtime gatherings for older adults are wellness-focused and may also provide educational programs, counseling, health screening, or wellness and exercise programs.
The Senior Congregate Dining Program is sponsored by the Onondaga County Department of Adult & Long Term Care Services, the New York State Office for the Aging, and the US Administration on Aging. Non-profit subcontractors provide lunch at our dining sites throughout the week as well as some breakfast and evening meals.
Three local agencies prepare nutritious meals for Onondaga County residents age 60 and older: PEACE Inc., Salvation Army, and the Jewish Community Center, which provides kosher meals. Reservations are necessary to ensure an adequate number of meals are on hand; PEACE and the Jewish Community Center require registration; please call to register:
