WEP's "Rules and Regulations Relating to the Use of the Public Sewer System" (Sewer Use Rules and Regulations) for industrial users are designed to ensure the effective and safe operation of Onondaga County's sewer system. WEP employees regularly conduct inspections for compliance with these ules in order to protect WEP's infrastucture, health of our workforce and the public, along with our local environment. These regulations aim to:

• Prohibit pollutants from entering the sewer system that could disrupt or negatively impact the operation of the sewer system or treatment facilities
• Prevent pollutants from entering the sewer system that would pass through the treatment process without being adequately treated
• Ensure that WEP meets all permit requirements and adheres to state and federal environmental laws.
