Examining one of the 1000-hp synchronous motors at the Ley Creek Pump Station |
WEP has an instrumentation and electrical (I/E) group
that supports many facilities in the Department.
The group is divided into two similar geographically
located sections. Each section is capable of
maintaining all types of industrial
electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic, and direct
digital control equipment installed in WEP
facilities.
I/E supports seven wastewater treatment facilities and
about 120 sewage transport facilities.
Its goal is to provide quality technical and
maintenance support to WEP. I/E personnel specialize
in electrical, instrumentation, electronic, and
computer systems.
I/E equipment maintenance
The I/E group maintains a variety of equipment, for
example:
Motors (fractional to 1000 hp) |
Lighting equipment (indoor/outdoor) |
Motor control centers |
Pumping station controls |
Flowmeters |
Dissolved oxygen meters |
Density meters |
HVAC systems |
Programmable logic controllers |
Telephone communications system |
SCADA systems |
Sewage sampling equipment |
Audio/visual equipment |
Pure oxygen generation systems |
Fire alarm systems |
Sprinkler systems |
Hazardous space monitoring equipment |
Standby generators (fixed and portable) |
Other electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic devices |
High- medium- and low-voltage control and distribution equipment |
Sewer line inspection equipment (such as TV gear) |
