Industrial Pretreatment

WEP is responsible for controlling wastewater discharges to the sanitary sewer system and the combined sewer system.

For that reason, WEP enforces requirements with regard to wastewater that is disposed of in the County's sewers. Industry and commercial establishments that discharge wastewater into the sanitary sewer system must meet the requirements of the "Onondaga County Rules and Regulations Related to the Use of the Public Sewer System."
