How TA Employment Works:
When applying for Temporary Assistance, each applicant is screened for barriers to employment. Employment Counselors work with everyone to determine an appropriate track of participation based on the individual's needs.

Individuals may be referred for substance abuse asssessments or medical evaluations if they claim a medical limitation or exemption from work activity. They may be required to establish and attend treatment as part of their restoration to self-suffiency plan.

We may be able to assist in applying for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for long-term work exempt or work-limited individuals. Those who can work will attend a job search group or meet with an Employment Counselor one-on-one for asssessment, development of an employment plan, and assignment to other work activities. Individuals remain assigned to an Employment Counselor, reagrdless of employability status, if their case remains open.

We partner with many local employers and community agencies to better serve our clients.
