The Onondaga County Fire Advisory Board was established by the Onondaga County Board of Supervisors on March 14, 1951.* The intent of the County Fire Advisory Board is to serve in an advisory capacity to the County Executive and the Department of Emergency Management in matters related to the fire service. This includes:
studying issues pertinent to fire protection and prevention
offering recommendations for improvement that protect life safety and preserve property
ensure compliance (through education) of standards put forth by the United State Fire Administration (USFA) and the NYS Office of Fire Protection and Control (OFPC)
