Pandemic flu is an outbreak of flu that spreads rapidly around the world, causing many people to become sick and even die.  Preparing for pandemic flu, or any other emergency, is everyone's responsibility.  Countries around the world are getting ready for pandemic flu.  Here in the United States, Federal, State and Local Governments have developed emergency plans for responding to a flu pandemic.  Onondaga County is coordinating with New York State and the Federal Government on pandemic planning activities.   The County is also working closely with local schools, businesses, hospitals, faith-based organizations and other community partners to improve pandemic preparedness in Onondaga County.
