1954 County takes over City sewage treatment plant
1959 County upgrades and expands sewage treatment plant
1970 County completes construction of Kirkpatrick Street Pump Station
1971 County repairs main interceptor sewer (MIS) and Harbor Brook interceptor sewer (HBIS), and trunk sewers on Oneida Street, Marcellus Street, Evans Street
1971 City Common Council clarifies ownership and maintenance responsibility for the Main Interceptor Sewer
1972 County repairs MIS and HBIS, and trunk sewers on Midland Avenue, Maltbie Street, Newell Street
1973 County repairs MIS and HBIS, and trunk sewers on Hiawatha Boulevard, South Avenue, Gifford Street, Midland Avenue, South Avenue & Onondaga Street, Harriman Street,

1985 County completes $10 million ($18 million in 2006 dollars) best management practices physical improvements to trunk sewers and CSO regulating structures, eliminating forty CSOs and reducing volume of CSO by 90% (started 1980)
1987 Atlantic States Legal Foundation sues County over alleged Clean Water Act violations
1991 County completes CSO comprehensive facilities plan
1993 County upgrades sewage treatment plant
1996 County completes draft Municipal Compliance Plan and draft environmental impact statement
1997 County upgrades sewage treatment plant
1998 Start of ACJ
