9. Community and public participation
Since initiation of the facilities planning stage of
the Clinton Street CSO Abatement Project in Feb
2000 until the preparation of this report, the County
has scheduled and attended numerous public
presentations and/or informational meetings with
interested members of the community. The purpose of
the meetings was to inform the interested parties of
the progress of the facilities planning efforts and to
obtain input relative to potential issues and concerns
that may be associated with implementing the CSO
abatement facilities within the Clinton Street CSO
service area (minutes were recorded). In addition to
formal public meetings (Sep 19, 2001 and May 6,
2002), meetings were held with the following
groups/organizations and businesses (Clare 2005):

In addition to informational meetings, the County also
held a series of mitigation advisory meetings with
members of the community (business and residential
groups) to prioritize community issues relative to
mitigating potential project impacts. The information
gained through these mitigation meetings is
incorporated, where appropriate, throughout the
content of this document. The following is a list of
the Mitigation Advisory Committee meetings conducted
by the County as of the writing of this document.
