HELP ENACT MANDATE RELIEF TODAY!

County property tax dollars are not funding COUNTY programs, they are funding STATE programs. The State Legislature has directed local taxpayers to pay for a growing share of the State’s social service/welfare programs and Medicaid, well known as mandated programs.

Counties and local governments have been asking for mandate relief for years and no one listened. Now, Governor Cuomo has proposed the most concrete mandate relief proposal in decades.

I strongly support the Governor’s cost-saving reforms and look forward to continuing to work with him as we deliver real results for the people and put the taxpayers first.
